Yahtzee Tournament- Heartland Charter School

Registration window July 10, 10:00 a.m. -July 17, 7:00 p.m.

Do you have a student or two who loves a competitive game of Yahtzee? If so, our Back-2-School Yahtzee Tournament might be just the thing for them. Come join us for a game you play having fun with others but really are competing against yourself to roll your best game ever!

This won’t be a day to learn the game, so come ready to compete. But we will have two leagues - Beginner (5 grade and younger) and Advanced (6th grade and up).

*Grade levels are tentative and may be adjusted depending on event sign-up numbers/grade levels.

Our Yahtzee tournament will have three rounds of mini-games and students will be paired with just one other student for a quicker played game:

● Round One - Upper Section Only: Players have a limited number of turns to fill their upper section boxes, aiming for the highest possible total.

● Round Two - Lower Section Only: Players focus on rolling and scoring in the lower section, with an emphasis on Full Houses, Large Straights, and Yahtzees.

● Round Three - Extra Dice Roll: Players roll six dice instead of five, choosing their best five to score. To make it more of a challenge, they will have a limited number of turns to get their best score possible using selections from either section.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please email the field trip host to let them know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? Check-in at the party room doorway with Ms. Van Patten at 1 PM. Look for a tall lady holding a clipboard and wearing a Heartland shirt.

Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? Students must be in 3rd- 12th grade to participate. Students need to be comfortable with playing Yahtzee independently and competitively against older students. The room at this location is small and not easily viewable from the main dining area, so younger non-participating siblings are not allowed to attend. Only one chaperone per family due to limited space.

Is there on-site parking available? Free parking in the lot and on the nearby side street.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No outside food or drink. Families are welcome to purchase out of pocket food & drink to eat outside the reserved area. Registered students will be provided with a slice of pizza and a drink. Please email special dietary pizza topping requests by noon the day before the event. This is a GLUTEN location.

*This location uses several common allergens, including GLUTEN, EGG, CORN, and DAIRY.
