Maud Hixson Student Outreach Concert- Heartland Charter School

Vocalist Maud Hixson is a devoted exponent of great songs, ranging from the classic Great American Songbook to the often unsung or forgotten compositions awaiting rediscovery. She and her husband, pianist Rick Carlson are based in their native Saint Paul, Minnesota. Their newest album, "Permanent Moonlight: Songs of Sir Richard Rodney Bennett" won a New York Bistro Award in 2024. Michael Feinstein says of Maud: "Her vocal style is so warm, intimate and compelling–it’s clear that she cares about the words and telling the story, with clarity and without artifice – practically a lost art these days."

Formed in 1948, the North SLO County Concert Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) association, whose mission is to foster an appreciation of the musical arts by presenting concerts by national and international artists not otherwise available in our community.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? Please arrive by 9:50 am in the lobby of Trinity Lutheran Church. Check in with the HST there. She will be wearing a Heartland shirt.

Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? All ages are welcome.

Is there on-site parking available? Please park in the spaces provided right next to the church. Parking is free.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
