Grover Beach Walk & Learn- Heartland Charter School

Have you ever wondered what causes tides, what causes waves, where do waves come from in different seasons, what’s the best season in the Central Coast, what kind of sea life does the Central Coast REALLY have, what other animals live at & around the beach, did people ever live in the Grover &/or Guadalupe Dunes?

HST, and lifelong wave rider and beach lover, Michael Phares, will answer so many of these questions during a walk along the beach from Grover to Pismo.

Come and have fun learning all about this fantastic coastal ecosystem while getting some steps in!

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip or event if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? Look for Mr.Phares near the stairs down to the beach in the WNW corner of the lot next to Fin’s. He’ll be the one with the clipboard! ;-)

Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? All ages are welcome; however younger siblings need to be supervised carefully.

Is there on-site parking available? Parking is free and normally plentiful in the Grover Beach/ Fin’s parking lot... but can be difficult at times when busy.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, so long as all trash is disposed of in trash cans.
