Forty-eight years ago, small-town movie theaters and drive-ins across America were lighting up their marquees for the release of a brand-new movie called Grease. Families piled into their cars, friends filled the aisles, popcorn was popping, and audiences were about to fall in love with a film that would become one of the greatest movie musicals of all time.
Now, 48 years later, we’re bringing that magic back to a historic theater that has been entertaining moviegoers for generations.
The Apollo Theater in Princeton, Illinois, has been a local landmark since 1883. Originally built as an opera hall and vaudeville venue, it began showing motion pictures around 1910 before being transformed into a modern movie theater in 1930. Today, it remains one of Illinois’ treasured historic theaters, continuing its tradition of bringing movie magic to the community.Â
On Friday, August 21, 2026, the original cast of Grease returns to the big screen experience with a special Meet & Greet from 2:00–8:00 PM, followed by movie showings at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Please Note: autographs & selfies are not included in your General or VIP ticket prices. You can obtain them directly from the cast members. $40 for an autograph or selfie or $50 for the combo of both.Â
