Food For America-Heartland Charter School

Food for America is an opportunity to give Kindergarten and first-grade students a first-hand look at agriculture. While visiting the high school campus these young students will see farm machinery and learn what it does, learn about local crops and how they are grown, become aware of issues in the Ag industry, and see and touch farm animals - something they may never have had the opportunity to do. Most importantly, they will learn about the important role agriculture plays in their everyday lives!

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please email the field trip host to let them know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip or event if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? Families will check in with Leticia Weeks at the entrance to the Frontier Football Field at 9:45 am. I will be wearing Heartland Charter School Apparel. Once families are checked in, they will be allowed to visit each of the activity booths. 

Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? Yes, this is limited to Kindergarten and First grade students and 1 chaperone per family. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Ticketbud.

Is there on-site parking available? Parking is free. Families will park in the Frontier High School Student parking lot off of Olive Drive just east of the football field.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, families are welcome to bring a sack lunch and picnic on the football field after visiting the booths.
