Field Trip: Coyote Point and Foster City, San Mateo County Bayside

Directions: We will visit one or more locations in Foster City, and then caravan to Coyote Point County Park ($6 fee per car or county parks permit). Meet at Sea Cloud Park in Foster City. Take Hillsdale Blvd toward the bay from Hwy 101. Turn right at Edgewater Dr and continue several stop signs past the shopping center to Pitcairn Dr (there is a sign for “Sea Cloud Park”) and turn left. Continue on Pitcairn until you just reach the park, turn right on Sea Cloud Dr, and go to the end of the parking area. 

Highlights: A good variety of shorebirds (including “rockbirds”), waterfowl (possible Harlequin Duck), other water birds, and land birds. Notes: Spotting scopes recommended. Rain cancels
