Event Description
The Annual Farm to Table Event is hosted in partnership with the Allegheny Mountain Institute (AMI) and will take place Saturday, August 12, at 5:00 PM, at the AMI Urban Farm on the VSDB campus. The event will feature produce grown on the AMI Urban Farm and fresh regional foods. Chef Mike Lund will prepare the evening’s fare be on-site that will be served in an open air seating under a tent at the campus farm. Attendees will also enjoy Virginia cider, craft beer and wine from Highland Counties and Augusta Counties. The evening will include music, tours of the Urban Farm, and a Live Auction.
Tickets are $75 - ($50 IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE) + $4.67 PROCESSING FEE

Proceeds
benefit educational programming of the VSDB Foundation and the Allegheny
Mountain Institute. The event supports and showcases the benefits of the school
garden as a powerful educational tool: At the AMI Urban Farm, Virginia School
for the Deaf and Blind students plant, cultivate, and harvest crops while
learning the science and math that is foundational to successful farming. In
addition, the VSDB school cafeteria prepares the vegetables for the students,
which gives them an opportunity to discover tastes that may be new to them, and
enjoy the fruits and vegetables of their labor.
