Event Description

In The Studio With MJ - The Lab

FAQs
Q - "What is the Lab?"
A - The Lab is a place to experiment and try new things.  I have presented more than 40 seminars in many countries around the world to some of the most amazing people you can imagine.  Some parts of the event have changed, others have stayed much the same.  Toronto is a very forward-thinking town, and I thought it might be fun for my guests and beneficial for me to have a place where I can try a few new segments and bounce some ideas around.  The seminar packs so much info into a day, this gives me a chance to talk to the audience and ask them questions in real-time.

Q - "My friend saw the seminar in another city and really liked it.  Will the Lab still have the content she liked so much?"
A - Yes, but with a slight twist.  Unlike "normal" seminars there will be more audience interaction and (gulp) maybe even a survey or tally sheet of some sort.  In return for the audience allowing these slight distractions through the day, I will extend the time slightly, remove the VIP option (everyone is a VIP in the Lab!), and lower the price slightly.  I'll even feed them!

Q - "Will there be anything about Neverland?"
A - I am so glad that I pretended like someone asked that question!  The answer is a resounding "YES!", and I think you will really enjoy it.  The Neverland segment was first tested a couple weeks ago in Seattle, and it went really well.  I have replicated something I call multi-point surround sound, to give my guests a true sense of what Neverland sounded like, while I give them a complete virtual tour.  It's pretty cool, if I do say so.

Q - A full day in the studio - will there be food?
A - We always provide snacks and drinks for our guests, and typically we provide lunch for our VIPs.  Since we are treating all of our Lab Rats like VIPs, food will be provided for everyone.  If you are on a specific diet or have specific dietary needs, feel free to bring in your own food/cooler.  There is most likely a fridge on site, and you will find that my rats and I are very easy to work with.

Seminar Overview
Four studio albums.  Countless sessions.  Video mixes.  Dance mixes.  Three world tours.  A ranch called "Neverland."  This was Brad Sundberg's life and career for nearly 18 years, working closely with the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.  This is your chance to hear of the music, the stories behind the music, and what it was like to be a part of Michael's team.  This is a one-of-a-kind music, photo and video-filled seminar.

Brad had the opportunity to work closely in the studio and at Neverland Valley Ranch with Michael Jackson.  He was Michael's technical director and one of the engineers on four studio albums including "Bad", "Dangerous", "HIStory", and "Blood On The Dancefloor."  (Michael even gave Brad the nickname "Really, Really Brad".)  These mammoth projects (including production, tour-prep and countless remixes) took upwards of 16 months each.  You will see and hear what it was like to be in the studio with Michael and the team of engineers and producers who created these songs, through a carefully crafted timeline of music, video and behind-the-scenes info.  From "Captain Eo" to "Man In The Mirror" to "Smile", Brad was there, and you will hear about the production process.

Additionally, Michael tapped him to help in the early days of designing and building Neverland Valley Ranch, his incredible home.  The ranch was filled with rides, music and surprises waiting to be discovered.  He commissioned Brad to bring music to virtually ever corner.  Michael would even give him specific playlists for certain areas of the ranch, to create just the right environment.
Brad is generous with his insights and knowledge, and there will be time for questions.

If you are a fan of Michael's music, or are curious about how those albums were recorded and the staggering amount of tapes, tracks and time invested, you will want to attend "In The Studio With MJ - The Lab" in Toronto.

Please be advised:
A note to ticket purchasers.  Many people have experienced "In The Studio With MJ", and several blogs and reports have been thoughtfully written, sharing the details of the seminar.  The MJ Estate has requested that certain elements of the seminar be removed, including the "Childhood" video.  I have no choice but to respect their request at this time.  I have been working on many new elements to share with you, and I believe the seminar is as unique and authentic as ever.
