Event Description

"Volunteer Assembly Day"

Operation Gratitude

It's National Volunteer Week!  Show your volunteerism spirit with your fellow ASQ SFV members, family and friends!

PLEASE JOIN US as we say "thanks" and show our support for our troops!  ASQ Section 706 has signed-on to help Operation Gratitude with "Volunteer Assembly Day" at the Chatsworth Forward Operating Base (FOB), facility on Saturday, April 13th, from 9:00am - 12:00pm.  Invite your friends and family!  Children 12 years of age minimum (with parental supervision) are welcome.

We will meet at Operation Gratitude’s parking lot at 8:00 am to complete waiver forms (required to volunteer).  All will receive a snack to eat outside before we head into Operation Gratitude where we will join many others assembling care packages for U. S. Military Service Members and First Responders deployed overseas.

ASQ promotes social responsibility as part of its body of knowledge – this is an event in which you can be proud to participate!  ASQ Member Volunteers will receive RU's for their efforts, but it's all about those who serve!  Please come join us in supporting our heroes!  Many ways to help! (Paracord Bracelets, letters, fill packages, stuff teddy bears, etc.) Check https://www.operationgratitude.com/

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
No bags, backpacks or briefcases are allowed in the Operation Gratitude facility.  Cell phones must remain in pockets.  Absolutely NO OPEN TOED Shoes are allowed in the Warehouse area.

ABOUT OPERATION GRATITUDE:

Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to veterans, first responders, new recruits, wounded heroes, their care givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home.

Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the military and first responder communities and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.

Each package contains donated products valued from $45-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship.

Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 2,256,271 care packages.

Please join us!
