Cardboard Rocket Tour at the BC Planetarium-Heartland Charter School

Registration window March 4, 10:00 a.m. March 10, 7:00 p.m.

You will first go on a live tour of the evening sky with our Planetarium Director, Nick Strobel, pointing out the constellations and planets you will see in this evening's sky.

After the evening sky tour, you will experience the all-dome video called “The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket.” A 40-minute all-dome video from Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake

City, you will embark on an outstanding adventure as two children spend a night touring the solar system in their cardboard rocket alongside their ship's navigator, an astronomy book.

*No light-up shoes. Please be prompt and quiet as you check in, as there will be a show in the Planetarium going on before ours.

Ticket cost:

• Students $5.00
• Chaperones are free. One per family due to limited space.

*The price for tickets paid with a credit card will be slightly higher due to the Ticketbud processing fee.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please let the field trip host know.

Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher, who planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you.* Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*

May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket with your student's planning amount. There are two steps to purchase tickets for field trips with your student's planning amount.

Step 1. Reserve your ticket on Ticketbud. Please select the "Student ticket paid with planning amounts through Procurify" ticket option on Ticketbud. Complete the checkout process on Ticketbud. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is complete. (If you do not receive an email please check your Spam folder.) This is the first step in reserving your tickets. Immediately after you receive confirmation from Ticketbud, you will move to step 2.

Step 2. Place an order for your tickets in Procurify. Search the name of this field trip in the Procurify catalog and complete your order just like you would for any other order. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify. Failure to place an order in Procurify within three days will result in being removed from the attendee list and having your funds manually deducted.

Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? This field trip is aimed at students who are in 1st-3rd grade. Older siblings may attend as well. Everyone attending a field trip or event must be registered through Ticketbud. Only one chaperone per family.

What are the check-in procedures? Check in at the Planetarium entrance with the Heartland teacher 9:30am-9:45am. Use the restroom before checking in. Once the show starts, if you need to leave, you will not be allowed back in.

Is there on-site parking available? There is a section of free parking on the corner of University and Haley. On a BC map, it is plot P16. Parking in other areas, you would need to purchase a day pass for $5.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
