You Don't Want to Miss this Once in a Lifetime Event!

You know you've ALWAYS WANTED TO COME BACK to Governors Island! We came from everywhere and lived everywhere but never somewhere like this beautiful Island off the tip of Manhattan.

ALL Are Welcome!

It doesn't matter what branch you served in, if you lived and/or worked on Governors Island we want to see you!

2026 marks 30 years since the lights went out and the doors were locked on our beloved Governors Island, NY. It wasn't great to watch the fate of this fantastic place fall into uncertainty.

Watching the evolution of the Island since it's closing has caused a raft of emotions as we feel possessive of this place. The razing of one entire side of the island means some who return do not get to see the home they lived in while on GI which does not seem fair at all.

But as we have returned over these years since the island reopened we can bear witness to the spirit of the Island that lives on in her ability to change. Like us.

We hope you can join us to CELEBRATE the lives we lived on this magnificent, ever-changing rock that we called home.

Tickets are FREE. All are welcome!

While we know a lot of people will want to come we ask that you do not reserve tickets unless you have every intention of coming as for planning purposes we need to have an accurate count of attendees. Please RSVP with the number of attendees in your party.

RAIN OR SHINE

We have the date but we're not so sure that just one day on our beloved Island will do! Structured events will be ALL DAY LONG on August 1, 2026 but reconnections will be happening all weekend long, that's for sure! No events scheduled for Sunday August 2, 2026

Reach out to your forever friends who lived on the island when you did and spread the word! There is a lot to see on GI and we encourage everyone coming up for the weekend to come back on the island and explore some more on Sunday.

FOOD/BEVERAGE

FOOD AND BEVERAGE can be purchased at any kiosk on the Island and we will have a POP UP Truck at the Reunion location with food & beverage for purchase.

As we get closer to the event we will publish a list of Island vedors who will be offering attendees discounts.

Grills at Picnic Point/Noland Park (TBD) will be reserved for any attendees that would like to bring their own food & charcoal to grill. Coolers are allowed and we suggest you bring one with sturdy wheels.

FERRY

FOOT FERRY ONLY - NO CARS

Ticket DOES NOT INCLUDE FERRY FARE ($5 for Adults). Active Duty and Retired Military (with military ID) get on the island for free.. Tickets can be purchased at the kiosks in the ferry terminal on the day of the event or in advance by going to the link below.

PARKING

Parking Apps: Best Parking | Spot Hero | ParkNYC

There are many parking garages down by the ferry terminal. We suggest you upload an app onto your phone and find one close and walk to the ferry terminal. You will not be able to bring your car onto the island.
