COURSE SYNOPSIS

Participants of this live, in-person course meet for two days in the heart of NYC for hands-on learning, with opportunities to practice advanced techniques from the CDES® and CDCP® courses. Through immersive simulations and real-world case studies, participants will gain firsthand insights into the lived experiences of individuals affected by neurocognitive disorders. This interactive session brings healthcare professionals together to enhance their understanding of holistically treating neurocognitive and movement disorders, including Vascular Dementia, Frontal Temporal Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Atypical Movement Disorders, and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.

Participants will learn to design and utilize tailored assessment tools, facilitate groups using dementia-specific adaptations, and apply principles from the Validation Method to foster connection and trust. Techniques to support individuals living with aphasia and manage sensory changes will be explored through case studies, videos, and demonstrations.

By the end of the session, attendees will leave equipped with actionable strategies to improve care, enhance communication, and design meaningful programs that address the unique needs of those living with cognitive and movement disorders.
