Grace Baptist Church west parking lot

2550 Jewetta Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93312, USA

Registration window February 24, 10:00 a.m. -March 12, 7:00 p.m.

We are so excited to announce the return of our Entrepreneur Fair in Bakersfield! If you have a student with big ideas and a drive for making a profit, this is the event for you!

Heartland students will have the opportunity to plan out a small business and sell their goods or services at our event. This is a great way to earn some business experience and some spending money!

After registering, each student will be required to fill out a short business plan to confirm their spot. The business plan will require students to calculate their expenses and potential profit margin, as well as consider how they will package and promote their product. Items sold can be homemade or store-bought, but should not be affiliated with a direct sales company (e.g. Doterra, Scentsy, Norwex, etc.).

There is a limited number of booth plots available, and students who do not submit their business plan on time will lose their reservation to a student on the waitlist. Please only register one student per business!

Helpers, family members, customers, and additional student sellers at the same booth should register under the Entrepreneur Fair Guest listing on Ticketbud.

Booths should be student-led and parent-supported. Students should be prepared to answer customer questions, promote their products, and make change with minimal help.

Please see the list below for more FAQs:

Booth Set-up - Your student will be responsible for providing everything that they need to run their booth. We will provide each business with a standard parking space to set up their booth. These spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. (You can arrive as early as 1:30 pm to set up.)

Some recommended items for your booth set-up: a table, a chair, a pop-up if you would like shade, a cash box or other safe place to keep your money, products for sale, & a trash can.

No electricity provided. It is not in our agreement with the church to use their electricity. If your student will need electricity, please consider using batteries or a generator. Food can be kept hot or cold in chafing trays or coolers.

Food - Food items should be nut-free and individually packaged. Because many people have allergies or other dietary restrictions, it would be helpful for all food vendors to provide a list of the ingredients included in their products. This will help potential customers feel more confident about purchasing food from your booth.

Trash Cans - As guests at the church, it is very important that we clean up thoroughly after our event. There is a dumpster on site. We request that each business provides a small trash can or trash bag for their customers, and then cleans up all trash around their booth before leaving for the day.

Money - Many of your businesses will have items with small price tags. Therefore, we recommend bringing an abundance of change in small bills. If a customer gives you a $20 bill to pay for a $1 item, you will need $19 in change for a single transaction. The more small bills you can bring, the more customers you will be able to serve. We have also found that items with smaller price tags have been more successful at this event. Please consider keeping your products to items under $10.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please email the field trip host to let them know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip or event if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? You may check in as early as 1:30 pm on the day of the event to set up your booth. Please check in at the table at the entrance to the west parking lot to get your booth assignment.

Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? All Heartland students must meet the requirements in the event listing. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Ticketbud

Is there on-site parking available? Free parking - consider parking on the street and reserving the parking lot for customers

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes.
