The prayer that is commonly known as The Lord’s Prayer is one that many memorized as young children. Even though we may recite it often in church as adults, there is more to this prayer than our English translations have to offer. When approached from its Aramaic roots, the Prayer of Jesus reveals a vision and path of following in the way of Jesus that is both inspiring and imminently practical.

Drawing upon the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz and using a balance of teaching, chanting, sacred movement, and guided meditation, this four-week course is intended as an introduction to this deeper work — allowing participants to enter into a deeper relationship — both with the Prayer of Jesus and following in the way of Jesus.

In the four weeks we'll roughly cover the following topics:

Week 1: Yeshua, the mystic & teacher

Week 2: Consenting to creation moment to moment -- the first half of the prayer.

Week 3: Living the prayer in inner and outer community -- the second half of the prayer.

Week 4: From gathering to gathering -- integrating the prayer in daily life & practice.

The following Neil Douglas-Klotz books are not required for this program but may be helpful resources for you to review before, during and after our four weeks together:

·        Prayers of the Cosmos: Meditations on the Aramaic Words of Jesus

·        Revelations of the Aramaic Jesus: The Hidden Teachings on Life and Death
