FRIDAY, MAY 3

2024 Governor’s Cup Case Tasting 3:00 – 5:30 pm

The weekend begins with an exclusive tasting of all 12 wines in the 2024 Virginia Governor’s Cup Case hosted by Frank Morgan, director of judging for the competition. The Virginia Governor’s Cup® is one of the most stringent competitions in the country. This annual competition is hosted by the Virginia Wineries Association in partnership with the Virginia Wine Board and the Virginia Vineyards Association.


Virginia Chefs’ Table Dinner 7:00 pm

Enjoy a culinary experience unlike any other. This elegant, four-course meal is enhanced with wine pairings from some of the Commonwealth’s most renowned vineyards. During the welcome reception, guests will enjoy a selection of hors d'oeuvres and Veritas Scintilla Sparkling Wine. Eleven distinctive wineries will host tables and pour their own wines during the meal, including Barboursville Vineyards, Bluestone Vineyard, CANA Vineyards & Winery, DuCard Vineyards, 53rd Vineyard & Winery, King Family Vineyards, Rosemont of Virginia, Michael Shaps Wineworks, Paradise Springs, Veritas and 7 Lady Vineyards. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on an array of wine and travel packages in a silent auction to benefit Bath County’s Christmas Mother program and the Highland Children's House.


SATURDAY, MAY 4

Poses & Pairings 8:00 am

Sommelier and certified yoga instructor Quynh Cohen leads this introductory yoga session with three poses each paired with a Virginia wine and fresh fruit. The art of “WINEfullness” encourages you to focus and concentrate on the flavor profiles of the wine, and each pose is constructed to enhance meditative flow and flexibility while adjusting your body to relax. We embrace nature and only serve sustainable, biodynamic and lower alcohol wines in our classes. The combination of wine sipping and yoga is a restorative and reflective experience.


Masters Classes 10:30 am – Noon

  • Sweet & Savory Spring Entertaining with Executive Chef Michael Zmigrodski and Executive Pastry Chef Pablo Rodriguez Impress your guests this spring with a delightful mix of sweet and savory treats! Learn expert tips and techniques for crafting a memorable menu featuring the fresh flavors of the season.
  • Insights into the Cabernet Franc Varietal with Frank Morgan Unravel the mysteries of Cabernet Franc with renowned wine expert Frank Morgan. Explore its unique characteristics, production methods, and food pairings in this insightful class.
  • History of Modern-day Winegrowing in Virginia, moderated by Fred Reno, Thomas Jefferson Wine Company. Explore, discover, and learn about the history of wine growing in Virginia, past and present. Fred Reno, President, and CEO of Thomas Jefferson Wine Company will moderate and be joined by two of Virginia's most prominent Vintners, Luca Paschina from Barboursville Vineyards, and Michael Shaps from Michael Shaps Wineworks. They will taste several of their wines to illustrate the quality of Virginia wine today.


Taste of Virginia 2:00 – 5:00 pm

From the plate to the glass, the flavors of Virginia will be shared and celebrated with a grand Taste of Virginia on Saturday afternoon. Enjoy exquisite wine and cider tastings and tapas-style cuisine during this incredible three-hour event.

In addition to the 11 wineries from Friday's dinner, other participants include Abingdon Vineyards, Boxwood Winery, Cave Ridge Vineyard, Jolene Family Winery, Karahiyo, Potters Creek Cidery, Mountains Vineyards, Stolzle Glasses, Troddenvale Cidery, Waterwheel Restaurant, and Visit Bath.
