SummerSupperSomm: A Celebration of Tomatoes and Virginia Wine

This summer season, we are thrilled to invite you to SummerSupperSomm, an elegant, curated gastronomic and botanical dream weekend with Village Garden, celebrated by Food and Wine magazine for growing “the best tomatoes in America,” and Barboursville Vineyards, Virginia’s most awarded winery. Enjoy this full, action-packed weekend from July 19 - 21 or book each dinner experience separately. 

FRIDAY, JULY 19

4:30 - 6 PM Meet & Greet with Jason and David

7 to 9 PM LA MIA BELLA FAMIGLIA | $85*

• Italian Family Style dinner featuring wines from Barboursville Vineyards and Frank Sinatra-style music. Enjoy trivia, prizes, and fascinating fun facts about botany, history, and growing practices throughout the evening.

SATURDAY, JULY 20

8 - 11 AM Morning Libations featuring The Homestead's signature Bloody Mary Bar

10 - 11 AM Wool Felting Tomatoes | $25*

• Transform fluffy wool into a whimsical tomato ornament in this needle felting workshop! With guided instruction by Amie Durrman you will master the art of shaping colorful fibers with a special barbed needle. You will have your choice of designs including, but not limited to a tomato!

11 AM - Noon All Things Tomato Seminar (includes your own take-away tomato plant!) | $30*

• Elevate your tomato game! Join family and friends as highly acclaimed farmers David and Barbara Hunsaker lead a 45-minute seminar on tomatoes, the solanaceae family and best practices in growing your favorite varieties. Guests will learn hands-on transplanting and care techniques, and leave with their own starter plant to plant at home.
