WALK THE WATERCRESS WAY!

Sponsored 14k walk with 7k option

Sunday 1st June 2025

The walk

This is a 14k circular sponsored walk along part of the Watercress Way via Itchen Abbas, through beautiful Hampshire countryside. This year there is a 7k option finishing at The Plough, Itchen Abbas, SO21 1BQ. Please organise your own transport from The Plough if walking the 7k route.

Prior to the walk

We will be sending out some further advice and details approximately two weeks before the walk, but in the meantime if you have any queries please get in touch: fundraising@winchester-rotary.org

The walk starts with registration at the King Charles Public House in Kings Worthy at 10:00am.

From 10:00 to 10:30am there will be an opportunity to buy coffee & croissants from the bar.

At the end of the walk

You're welcome to pre-order burger, scampi or curry for the special price of £12 per person. Once you have booked for the event, you will receive a confirmation email which explains how to make your pre-order. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us at fundraising@winchester-rotary.org. You will pay the pub upon your return, when you confirm your pre-order with them and order any drinks that you want.

If you're finishing at the Plough in Itchen Abbas, and have booked food at the King Charles, please organise your own transport back to the start.

Sponsorship and Donations

All profits including any sponsorship you're able to raise from this event will go to a football programme organised by: Winchester Street Reach

If you're unable to participate, but wish to make a donation, please follow the link to JustGiving below, which will ensure there is no fee charged and if you're eligible, Gift aid can be collected from the Government.

To collect your sponsorship you can use the paper sponsorship form or you will probably find it easier to use the Just Giving Page which Winchester Rotary have set up at:

Alternatively, you can create your own fundraising page by using the link on that page where it says “Be a Fundraiser” to do so. We would ask that you only create your page that way as it is linked to our main page and so the monies will automatically be transferred to Rotary for onward transmission to Winchester Street Reach.
