Gilroy Water Treatment Facility

Explore levees along settling ponds and Llagas Creek for migrants and winter arrivals. Mainly birding by car with short, level walks along levees. Scopes helpful.

Directions: From US-101 in southern Gilroy, exit Monterey Rd (exit 355). Travel north on Monterey Rd, then make the first right onto E Luchessa Ave. E Luchessa Ave passes under the freeway angles right and becomes Rossi Ln, then dead-ends at Southside Dr. Turn left onto Southside Dr and follow it ½ mile to the treatment plant entrance on your right. Turn right into the treatment plant facility, continue straight until the road dead ends at the administration bldg and park in the lot. We must check in at the office before birding the site.
