“One of State Street Ballet’s most delightful productions, this timeless holiday tale is a favorite for audiences of all ages. The story follows Clara on an enchanting journey as her toy nutcracker comes to life and they travel to the land of the sweets.
This magical quest has something for everyone including battling toy soldiers and mice, sparkling snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the dazzling Sugar Plum Fairy.
Accompanied by the Opera San Luis Obispo Grand Orchestra, an international cast of professional dancers unite with over 100 young dancers from the State Street Ballet Academy for an unforgettable weekend of performances to celebrate the magic of the season.”
This is a wonderful opportunity for our Heartland students to experience theater, dance, and music in this holiday classic at the beautiful Granada Theater in downtown Santa Barbara.
*By joining Heartland, you'll save on our ticket price with our group rate.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please let the field trip host know. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.
**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip or event if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**
Please read our refund policy!
Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher, who planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you.* Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*
May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket and one chaperone ticket with your student's planning amount. Reminder, only one chaperone ticket per family may be purchased using planning amounts. There are two steps to purchase tickets for field trips with your student's planning amount.
Step 1. Reserve your ticket on Ticketbud. Please select the "Student ticket paid with planning amounts through Procurify" and or "Chaperone ticket paid with planning amounts through Procurify" ticket options on Ticketbud. Complete the checkout process on Ticketbud. You will receive an email confirmation from Ticketbud once your order is complete. (If you do not receive an email please check your Spam folder.) This is the first step in reserving your tickets. Immediately after you receive confirmation from Ticketbud, you will move to step 2.
Step 2. Place an order for your tickets in Procurify. Search the name of this field trip in the Procurify catalog and complete your order just like you would for any other order. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify. Failure to place an order in Procurify within three days will result in being removed from the attendee list and having your funds manually deducted.
What are the check-in procedures? Please find Julie Anderson outside the Granada Theater between 1:30-1:45 PM to get your ticket. If you are running late, please text Julie at 805-451-8607. Late arrivers can get their tickets from the box office.
Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? All ages are welcome; however, this is not an ideal event for young siblings, as the show is about 2 hours of sitting in a dark and quiet theater. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Ticketbud.
Is there on-site parking available? Paid parking near The Granada Theatre is available in a variety of downtown city-operated parking lots. The lot closest to The Granada Theatre is located behind the theatre at 1221 Anacapa Street, between Victoria Street and Anapamu Street. To access Granada Parking Garage, continue past The Granada Theatre on State Street to Victoria Street (at the end of the block) and turn right. Turn right onto Anacapa Street at the end of the block. There are parking entrances on both Anacapa and on the following street, Anapamu. A special event parking fee may be charged in this lot. During non-event hours, the first 75 minutes of parking is free and each additional hour or part is $3. To get to the theater entrance or box office, exit the garage at the northwest corner of the building, proceed toward State Street through the paseo and turn left. There are other city parking lots in walking distance from the theater that will charge slightly less for parking–see parking lots 4, 5 and 7 on this linked map. These lots will have the first 75 minutes free and then parking is $3 per hour after that. More details about drop off and parking are HERE: https://www.granadasb.org/visit/directions-and-parking/.
Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
