STEAM Yard Tour

The FREE tour and hands-on experience will be held on April 30th at the STEAM YARD at the KCSOS Learning Center. The focus of the event is to showcase the newly opened STEAM Yard, a first-of-its-kind educational center dedicated to fostering student growth through an innovative, student-centered approach. Families will get a full tour of the playground for creativity and discovery. The center will soon host learning and fun interactive STEAM nights and Saturday family make-and-take workshops and this is a perfect opportunity to see what it’s all about!

The tour will involve a showcase of innovative learning spaces and will show a glimpse of activities for K-8 students including robotics, a Lego wall, hydroponics, computer coding, 3D printing, graphics, maker spaces, a recording studio, sewing/fashion arts, and much more.

*Please note, not all of these will be open for our use but we will preview them all and then there will be a hands-on STEM career exploration activity!*

The STEAM Yard is a brand new hands-on learning resource that will soon host events for the public in the evenings and weekends. The hope is that your eyes will be opened to such an innovative space and jump at the chance to visit again.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please email the field trip host to let them know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.
