SCVAS Field Trip: Henry Coe State Park

Directions: From Hwy 101 in Morgan Hill, take East Dunne Ave exit and go east past Anderson Lake to the end of the 10 mile winding road to park headquarters. If you are using a phone or navigation system, use full address to ensure you come to the right entrance: 9000 East Dunne Ave., Morgan Hill.

Highlights: Many difficult birds to find in Santa Clara county can be found including Red-breasted Nuthatch, Pileated Woodpecker, Band-tailed Pigeon, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Black-chinned Sparrow and more.

Difficulty: 4 miles, strenuous

Notes: $8 parking fee, cash or credit. Consider carpooling! Limited to 12 participants.

For all trips: Beginners welcome. Heavy rain cancels. Carpool if possible. Bring binoculars. No unaccompanied minors.
