Specifically designed for Heartland Charter School students of all ages, this immersive field trip costs $20 per student (ages five and up), while parents, chaperones, and children aged four and under may attend for free. The day begins at 10:00 AM with a warm-up and safety briefing, leading into a series of hands-on learning stations and guided explorations. Students will rotate through interactive activities covering vital environmental topics such as ecosystems, water cycles, food chains, and conservation. After a midday lunch break and a final round of station rotations, the program concludes at 2:00 PM with a group debrief and reflections on the day's discoveries.

Spending the day outdoors offers students a meaningful and memorable way to engage with the environment alongside their families and friends.

These interactive activities are designed to be both educational and enjoyable, giving students a fun opportunity to explore the preserve and enjoy the beauty of spring!

Ticket cost:

  • Children ages 0-4 FREE
  • Students ages 5+ $20.00
  • Chaperones FREE

*The price for tickets paid with a credit card will be slightly higher due to the Ticketbud processing fee.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please get in touch with the teacher who planned the event and let them know so they do not have to wait at the venue for you. * Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*
