The American Revolution: Screening, Panel & Digital Exhibition

Thursday, March 19, 2026

06:00 PM - 08:30 PM

The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County

305 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, OH, USA

The American Revolution, the latest film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt, examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down. Thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic Coast rose in rebellion, won their independence, and established a new form of government that radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe.

PBS Western Reserve, in collaboration with the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, is offering a free event which includes a digital exhibition featuring materials from the American Revolution era, an abbreviated screening of the new Ken Burns film, and a panel discussion led by experts that will highlight women in the American Revolution in recognition of Women's History Month. Light refreshments will be provided. While this event is free and open to all, registration is required. This event is recommended for those 16 years of age and older.
