Join the Denver chapter of the Alliance of Women in Workers' Compensation for this special session! Dr. Alan Weintraub from Craig Hospital will talk about Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with the following objectives:

1. Learning the complexities of diagnosing TBI
2. Learning types and severities of TBI
3. Learning through case examples some of the specific disabilities associated with TBI
4. Learning about Community Integration, Life Long Living and the role of a Specialized TBI System of Specialized Care

Outline:

TBI is a devastating injury to the Brain and occurs with many different types and severities. This presentation will outline the significant components of injury, biopsychosocial determinants of outcomes and will highlight the importance of a specialized TBI system of care. By way of case examples, the audience participants will better understand some of the unique acute care and rehabilitation avenues patients and families journey through in redefining their new life. Concepts of aligning expectations through a case management model will be discussed through an open Q&A format.
