SCVAS Field Trip: Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, Horseshoe Lake

Directions: From I-280 in Palo Alto take Page Mill Rd west, toward Skyline Blvd (Hwy 35), for approximately 7 miles. Turn left onto Skyline Blvd. After about a mile the preserve entrance will be on the right. Meet in "Visitor Parking", the northern most parking lot (lot with restrooms).

Highlights: This is will be an easy 1.5 hour bird walk with little elevation change. Highlights could include Black-throated Gray Warbler, Western Tanager.

Notes: Bring layers - temperatures vary in the Santa Cruz Mountains in summer. Limited to 19 participants.

For all trips: Beginners welcome. Heavy rain cancels. Carpool if possible. Bring binoculars. No unaccompanied minors.
