Heavenly Wheels U-Pick Blueberry Picking- Heartland Charter School

Registration window April 15, 10:00 a.m. -April 29, 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a morning of picking beautiful, delicious blueberries at the Heavenly Wheels Blueberry Farm! We will start our time with a brief lesson from the Rancher on Blueberry pollination, the plant's life cycle, the fruit's characteristics, and how to properly pick the fruit. Then we will head out into the field to pick our own.  

There is no admission fee to pick berries at Heavenly Wheels; all you pay for are the berries you pick! Berries are $5/lb U Pick.  

Outside food is allowed if you would like to bring lunch and have a picnic. 

The preferred payment for Blueberries is cash or card. 

There are many educational skills that can be learned from blueberry picking together. Not only is learning in the field fun, but kids are more opt to remember and apply new knowledge when it is tied to a fun experience.  A great book to read before coming is Blueberries for Sal (available on Sora!), and this website has many Fun Blueberry Activities for Kids. Or consider this THIS Blueberry Unit Study or THIS one for younger students. 

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please email the field trip host to let them know once you complete your registration. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip or event if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**

May I pay using my funds? This event is FREE!

What are the check-in procedures? Meet on the cement driveway near the payment table at 9:45. I will be wearing a green Heartland t-shirt and will have a clipboard for check-in.

Who may attend? All ages are welcome. Each person attending a field trip or event must register through Ticketbud.

Is there on-site parking available? Yes, free parking is available.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes, there is a small shady area to eat on the grass.
