What is the Black Birthworkers Brunch?

A networking cocktail hour with a brunch twist for birth workers who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a person of Color (BIPOC) to come together and learn from one another over brunch and mimosas.

Our hopes with this networking cocktail hour is to bring birth work back home to where it started by bringing a group of BIPOC workers together to meet, learn, and integrate the ins and outs of birth work from a traditional, client, and business perspective. Relax and unwind as we discuss the ins and outs of birth work, share knowledge across practices, and network amongst one another while doing a little light shopping and brunching.

Our hopes with this event is for us to:

  • learn how to build relationships with clients by integrating cultural and western traditions
  • learn how to support a client's emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being during pregnancy, labor, postpartum and more.
  • learn about different roles in the birthworker community and how to maneuver through them
  • learn about the importance of community and how to support one another through the work that we do
  • learn how to build and sustain a birthworker business
  • And much more!!
