Enhancing Professional Productivity with Generative AI

Generative AI is revealing new use cases for personal and professional productivity and creativity due to its ability to rapidly produce useful content–guided by humans through prompts. Generative AI complements ‘traditional’ deep learning-based AI (classification, judgment, prediction, etc.) by enabling the generation of new content–text, audio, image, video–and also by describing and summarizing such content and even enabling multimodal content and projects. Google’s latest multi-modal foundational model, Gemini 1.5 Ultra, is at the heart of Gemini for Google Workspace, giving Google Workspace customers the ability to leverage the most advanced generative AI technologies on their company data securely.

In this class, we will briefly review the fundamentals of AI, and explain how generative AI builds on these fundamentals. We will share the pros and cons of using AI, advice for when to use it and how to use it most effectively, and under what conditions we think it can best help professionals get more high-quality work done in less time and at less cost. In short, we will teach you how to level up with the new Gemini for Google Workspace and teach employers how they can increase their ‘return on employee’ by enabling them to use these powerful AI tools. 

We will then move into hands-on examples (so bring your laptops!). We will use Google’s Gemini ( available via gemini.google.com built into Google Workspace with the Gemini for Google Workspace Add-on) to generate documents, emails, summaries, and images through the use of thoughtful and well-crafted prompts to Gemini.
