About the Artists
Tim Buckland (Piano)
Recipient of numerous scholarships, Tim Buckland has played and studied piano since the age of five. In Adelaide, he studied with Professor Stefan Ammer, and at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Professor Ian Holtham. He holds a Licentiate of Music Australia, and in 2017 he completed a Master of Music majoring in Performance. He has a broad experience in performing, including two occasions with the University of Melbourne Orchestra. He enjoys a full-time piano teaching load that includes work at King David School and Elwood College as well as his own private students. He enjoys breakdancing and studying theology in some of his spare time.

Laura Barton & Dale Vail (Violin & Trombone)
Having met while studying together at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, Laura Barton and Dale Vail both went on to complete a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours, and are now in their second year of study at the Australian National Academy of Music. They are also now studying towards a Master of Music degree through Griffith University.

Laura began the violin at the tender age of three in the small, country-music- obsessed town of Gore (NZ). Since then, she has performed around New Zealand as a member of several professional orchestras, and the NZSO National Youth Orchestra. Her other love is for the conductor’s baton, and is enjoying the new set of skills she is gaining from this.

Dale picked out the trombone as the silliest looking instrument at a brass band concert when he was two years old. He has gone on to become one of the top trombonists in New Zealand, winning national solo titles and performing with internationally recognised ensembles. These include the Wellington Brass Band, Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, and the NZSO National Youth Orchestra. He is also a published composer, and has a passion for creating new works.
