Students will tour the museum to learn about Tehachapi’s rich history. Displays include photographs and artifacts from some of the first ranchers and farmers, the miners who passed through during the Gold Rush, and the first railroad workers. The museum also has a wealth of Native American artifacts.
Students will also have the opportunity to tour the Errea house which is the oldest residence in the Tehachapi area and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Tehachapi Museum is operated by Heritage League volunteers and is free to the public. It runs completely off of donations. This is a no-cost field trip, but you are welcome to bring a donation for the museum. There is also a small gift shop that you are welcome to browse after the field trip.
