Create with Brooklyn FAM in Bay Ridge
Friday, May 31, 2024
03:30 PM - 05:30 PM
Bay Ridge Library
Brooklyn Public Library - Bay Ridge Branch, 73rd Street, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, USA
Tweens and teens, come make your mark on an exciting borough-wide public art project with Brooklyn FAM's youth fellows! Reflect on Brooklyn FAM's 2024 theme of "home" to create your own unique stamp (yours to keep) and craft fabric prints in small groups.
Your prints will be stitched into Coming Home, a magnificent 13-foot tablecloth composed of printmaking, weaving, tasseling, and beading that express the voices of Brooklynites of all ages on "Home."
- What makes me feel at home with others?
- How can we help each other feel at home in the spaces we share?
- What can I do to support others' right to a place to call home?
Refreshments will be served.
Brooklyn FAM has developed Coming Home with Flatbush and Bay Ridge-based artists Jessica Elena Aquino and Adriana Gramly. The finished project will be unveiled on Sunday, October 20th, at Brooklyn FAM 2024, our 4th annual flagship festival at the Prospect Park Boathouse.
We're excited to reflect and create with you. Space is limited, so RSVP today!
