Discover Your Inner Rhythm: A Playful Sound Exploration
Join us for a playful 2-hour workshop where you'll reconnect with your inner rhythm and express yourself through music and movement. This is perfect if you're looking to add a touch of creativity and self-discovery to your vacation or weekend getaway.
In a safe and supportive environment, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Play various musical instruments, including drums, flutes, and guitars (no prior experience needed!)
- Participate in fun and engaging theatrical improv games
- Express your authentic voice and celebrate your unique gifts
Through guided activities and playful exploration, you'll tap into the power of vibration and sound to release old patterns and embrace a newfound sense of joy and presence. No matter how far you've come to get here, you may feel like a kind of homecoming through making real music spontaneously with others.
No musical experience is necessary – just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore. All expressions are welcome and will be held with care and respect.

Your guide for the workshops
Daniel Barber (aka Two Trees)
In his time as a social worker, social scientist, video producer, political activist, band leader, improvisational actor and musician, sound shaman, and ceremonial guide, Daniel Barber has persistently pursued the question...
“How can we get from where we are to where we most want to be?” Everywhere, capable and competent people struggle with themselves and others without knowing why.
Since 2014, he has worked with people who are feeling stuck, out of tune, and uncertain to find liberation by exploring our authentic, creative nature by sound-making and path-finding on piano in the midst/mist/myst of it all.
He created a way for people to learn to play the piano intuitively using a technique that makes it possible to learn to begin improvising musically on piano in all 12 keys on piano in less than one hour!
This makes it possible to explore the inner realms of the creative without being totally discouraged by sour notes. This is where the transformation work lives, in the magical dance of listening, feeling, and playing moment by moment.
Daniel has worked and trained with the Rites of Passage Council since 2002, where he was certified to lead indigenous rites of passage rituals. This, along with leading the World Beat Band at the Jubilee! Community for 20 years, performing with the Asheville Playback Theatre company for 12 years, and guiding people through his own SoundYourSelf method for 10 years... has nurtured an unusually varied capacity to connect deeply and mindfully through the transformative power of sound.
