Maekdo Productions Presents the Black Lesbian Archives Chicago Tour 2019! The opening event for this tour is being sponsored by Gerber/Hart Library and Archives. The Black Lesbian Archives will be open to view Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12PM.

The film screening and discussion will feature filmmaker Rachael Pierce. Rachael Pierce is a Queer Christian Filmmaker from the South Side of Chicago. Rachael is committed to the work of growing the visibility of Queer POC on screen and in church leadership. 'Black Queer Herstory Chicago' is a collection of video journals and short films of Black LGBTQ Women from Chicago, who have participated “In the Life” over the past several decades. Chicago is known for being a progressive metropolis with ample, LGBTQ history. However, the stories of the black women who contributed to that history are regularly overlooked. BQHC is a film series about visibility, celebration, and education for the present and next generation to come. 

Programming will be from 6:00-9:30PM. There will be snacks and refreshments served Visit: Maekdo Productions updates for the Chicago 2019 tour.
