Almaden Lake Park and Los Alamitos Creek Trail

Let’s explore this urban park with manicured lawns, groves of eucalyptus trees, and man-made lake. We’ll start by scanning the south shore of the lake and the small island where egrets and herons nest in the spring before continuing upstream along the riparian habitat of Los Alamitos Creek. 2 miles, paved bike path.

Directions: From Hwy 85 in San Jose take the Almaden Expwy exit south. In 0.8 miles, turn left onto Coleman Rd, then make the first right onto Winfield. Free parking on the street or $6 fee for parking lot. Meet near blue bathrooms.
