Paul Coffey Arena (formerly Malton Arena)

Event Description
MHI Canada Aerospace, Inc. (MHICA) is hosting a fundraiser
on Friday, September 9 to raise funds for a new children’s playground beside
the existing Malton Arena. The park will
feature a wooden structure based upon the High Park design created by Mike
Holmes of Holmes on Homes.
The Park and
Arena will be officially re-named The Paul Coffey Arena and The Paul Coffey
Park by the City of Mississauga after one of Malton's most famous native sons,
legendary hockey player, Paul Coffey.
Paul grew up in Malton, learned to skate here, and started his hockey career
in Malton Arena.
When Paul won his first Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers in 1984, he celebrated in Malton with all his local friends and family. And now, we are celebrating the re-naming and creation of a new park in his name with a party for the whole village!
Local Malton bands The
New Hollywood and Itchy and Scratchy
will entertain, an autograph session with Paul Coffey has been scheduled, and a
silent auction with hockey memorabilia will be featured. Food, drink, laughs and good times with old
and new friends are on the agenda!
This is a licensed event. Admittance is limited to people 19 years of age and older.
Tickets are limited; don’t miss out on the chance to
