Join the Alliance of Women in Workers' Compensation in Boston for our annual WCRI Pre-Conference session. This year will focus on our key topic, evolving models of health.
Buy, Build or Lease? New technologies, a boom in processing power, and more significant amounts of data are driving changes on all levels to our lives and business.
How does technology change our workplace? How will these changes in technology augment the way we as an industry think about the injured worker, the clinicians, and caregivers? How does business identify tech-enabled products and services to improve the customer experience?
The reality is that the population is aging, and the younger generation expects a different work experience. We have shifted our focus to helping people make better decisions. We apply technology for efficiency, effectiveness, and accurate throughput, thus allowing us to focus on the complexities of the person.
Healthcare is human-centric. Technology will not solve all, but we will explore how we can maximize its effectiveness and choose the right tools to produce better outcomes and more effective business models.
12:30PM Registration Opens
1:15PM The Investment Thesis – Nancy Brown, Oak HC/FT

2:00PM Telemedicine Disruption – Eric Glazer, Teledoc Health
Eric’s remarks will be the focus of our healthcare and tech session. We will explore how to discover a gap in a market for a new product offering, build a strategy to market and launch a product, and gain a deeper understanding of how the identify and gain stakeholder buy-in and execute a strategy.
2:45PM Physician Point of View and Role of Big Tech – Dr. Mahek Shah
Internationally recognized thought leader and value based care expert Dr. Mahek Shah will share his strategies on what the future of health care looks like, disruptive innovations in health care delivery business models, and big technology companies' role and influence in today's health care sector.
We will hear from thought leaders in the workers' compensation industry. This discussion will relate the technology and investment sessions more directly to our industry, and answer the following questions: How are they thinking of the evolving healthcare market, and what technologies are at the top of their agendas? What should be the considerations around a technology before execution?
