Pease District Park

Pease District Park, 1100 Kingsbury St, Austin, TX 78705, USA

Event Description

In cooperation with the Old Enfield Homeowner's Association, Pease Park Conservancy invites you to join us on February 27th for an informational walking tour of the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department's Shoal Creek Restoration Project. The tour and discussion will be lead by WPD Project Sponsor, Clayton Ernst.

From the WPD project website:

The Shoal Creek project aims to provide erosion protection in Shoal Creek, improve the quality of stormwater runoff that enters the area, and restore native vegetation along the creek corridor.

The desired solutions will retain or restore the natural character of the Shoal Creek Greenbelt and integrate with desired park uses.

This will be a great opportunity for neighbors, park users, and the general public to better understand the many components of the project. The tour will begin at the historic picnic tables near the Tudor Cottage located at 1100 Kingsbury Street and proceed north. Walking shoes are highly recommended as the project area extends into the off-leash dog area near Gaston Avenue.
