J.E.B. Stuart HS Students from Student Led/Student Fed and
the Ceramics Levels 2 and 3 classes have joined together to present an Empty Bowls fundraiser to raise awareness of hunger issues and how our
community is working together to address them. All proceeds of the effort will go to food security programs in our community.
Please join us for a simple dinner of soup, bread and
cookies while you learn about hunger and ongoing ways to address it. Learn about resources in our community and opportunities for volunteers of all ages.
Main Speaker: Betsy Pank,
Columbia Baptist Spend Yourself Food Pantry Director -- Learn about the
ministry's community gardens, nutrition classes, and other efforts to help
individuals develop food security.
Additional Speakers:
Carlos C. -- JSHS Student and co-founder of the
JSHS food recovery and distribution program; and
Sarah Shannon -- Member, Arlington Moose Lodge #1315, will provide a brief overview of the new community garden, its goal to
stock community pantries, and how you can participate.
