High School Renewable Energy Camp
The Renewable Energy Camp will enhance understanding of renewable energy and demonstrate how to design, test, construct, fabricate, and present energy conversion and storage devices.
Space is limited to 20 campers. Please register early.
At camp, you will:
- Participate in interactive sessions with local experts to learn the principles of and engage in hands-on experiments with renewable energy conversion and storage devices like solar cells, supercapacitors, lithium-ion batteries, and fuel cells.
- Visit local corporations such as Medtronic.
- Work with team members to collaboratively design, fabricate, and test energy conversion and storage devices as well as analyze and present experimental results.
Who: Students entering or in grades 9–12
When: July 13-17, 2020; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Where: Hamline University's Saint Paul campus
Cost: $598 per person before May 31; $698 per person after May 31. The cost includes 5 lunches, lab materials and supplies, field trip transportation, water bottle, and a T-shirt.
Deposit: $50 nonrefundable deposit for those who wish to be considered for a scholarship and $200 nonrefundable deposit for all other registrants
Scholarships may be available based on financial need and are awarded on a first come, first served basis. To apply, submit an essay about why the camp is important to you and how the scholarship helps your participation (500–1000 words) to Dr. Lifeng Dong at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 30, 2020.
