School of Rock at the Ovation Theater-Heartland Charter School

Rock out with us and 'School of Rock' at Ovation Theatre! Join Dewey Finn as he transforms a class of straight-A students into a mind-blowing rock band. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a story full of heart, humor, and high-energy performances, this musical sensation is not to be missed!

Students will be able to see a full-length, live theater performance in a working theater environment. Watching a live show will help students to develop literacy in theater, including discovering the expressive elements of theater, knowing the terminology that is used to comprehend theater, having a clear sense of what theater embodies, and being able to reflect, critique, and connect personal experience to the theater.

Students will have to climb at least one flight of stairs as all seating is theater style.

Ticket cost:

• Students (Grades 3-12) $20.00
• Chaperones $30.00

*The price for tickets paid with a credit card will be slightly higher due to the Ticketbud processing fee.

Heartland events are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please let the field trip host know. Chaperones must be the legal parent or 25 years and older. All chaperones must be healthy, ethical people with the skills to be responsible adult chaperones.

Refunds will not be given for any reason. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip, please contact the teacher, who planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you.* Families who are no-shows may lose access to future field trips.*

May I pay using my student's planning amount? Yes! You can pay for your student's ticket and one chaperone ticket with your student's planning amount. Reminder, only one chaperone ticket per family may be purchased using planning amounts. There are two steps to purchase tickets for field trips with your student's planning amount.

Step 1. Reserve your ticket on Ticketbud. Please select the "Student ticket paid with planning amounts through Procurify" and or "Chaperone ticket paid with planning amounts through Procurify" ticket options on Ticketbud. Complete the checkout process on Ticketbud. You will receive an email confirmation from Ticketbud once your order is complete. (If you do not receive an email please check your Spam folder.) This is the first step in reserving your tickets. Immediately after you receive confirmation from Ticketbud, you will move to step 2.

Step 2. Place an order for your tickets in Procurify. Search the name of this field trip in the Procurify catalog and complete your order just like you would for any other order. Your spot on this field trip will not be confirmed until you have placed your order in Procurify. Failure to place an order in Procurify within three days will result in being removed from the attendee list and having your funds manually deducted.

What are the check-in procedures? Mrs. Chambless will meet all families in the lobby of the Ovation theater to pass out paper tickets at 6:45. Seating is assigned and your TicketBud email cannot be used to replace the paper ticket. You will check in and be given specific seating information at the theater.

Does this trip have any grade or age restrictions? Because of the content and live theater setting of this show, this field trip is for students in grades 3rd-12th for the 2024-25 school year. No students under 3rd grade may attend this event. Any unenrolled siblings attending must have a date of birth on or before 1/1/2016. No exceptions will be made. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Ticketbud.

Is there on-site parking available? Street parking is available downtown around the theater as well as a paid parking garage a few streets over.

Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
