Gather Greenville

In a town known for distinctive cuisine, Gather Greenville will be an exciting and innovative new addition to Greenville's food and beverage scene, featuring local restaurateurs and brewers in an environmentally-friendly space constructed primarily of reused shipping containers, and offering a casual family-oriented environment for relaxing and socializing. Mack Cross, the developer and visionary behind Gather Greenville, will discuss his inspiration, how he structured the project, and the obstacles he faced. Sarah Klaassen, co-owner of KO Restaurant Group and operator of four of the food and beverage concepts within Gather Greenville, will join the discussion to speak about the development from a tenant's perspective. In addition, Carl Jones, project manager with Base-360, the general contractor for the project, will describe the unique construction issues and challenges presented by working with recycled shipping containers. Mack Cross: Mack and his father, Doug, founded Four Oaks Property Group, LLC in 2017. Mack and Doug are passionate about creating places and building community through real estate development. Their first two projects are Gather GVL, a local food and beverage collective in the West End of downtown Greenville, and Burdette Central, the redevelopment of a 100 year old building and property in downtown Simpsonville.

Sarah Klaassen: Sarah worked in restaurants from the time she turned 15 in roles ranging from hostess and server to pizza cook and bartender. She and her husband, Paul, own and operate HenDough, a chicken and donut restaurant in Hendersonville, NC. In addition,they are co-owners and operating partners of Greenville’s KO Restaurant Group, who will open four food and beverage concepts at Gather GVL, including Al Taglio Roman Style Pizza, KO Burger and Fries, HenDough Chicken & Donuts, and Mercado Cantina.  

Carl Jones: Carl is originally from Wales in the United Kingdom and brings over 14 years of experience in the residential, commercial, custom home building and remodeling industry. During this time, he operated a successful remodeling business in Kansas City before joining the team at Base-360 in 2015. He brings extensive managerial experience that was attained before moving to the United States in 2005.

Luncheons are at a new location this year, the Commerce Club, and we will be enjoying buffet options instead of a sit-down lunch. Please plan to arrive close to 11:30AM to have plenty of time to network and grab your lunch. The program will be starting promptly at 12:00PM. Additionally, parking validation tickets will be available to cover your parking for the luncheon.
