Event Description
Following the major floods in 1886 and 1892, the decision was made to raise the level of Broad Street. The underground level of Rome will be available for tours on Saturday, July 22nd. Each of the tours will last about an hour and a half and will begin from the Historic DeSoto Theatre at 530 Broad Street, Rome, GA.
Please make sure to wear closed toe shoes. Also, due to the nature of this event, it is for ages 12 and up.
The underground tour is part of local attorney Chris Jackson's fundraising campaign for the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge, a benefit for the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia.
