Meet Janine Lee, our July Leader With Soul

Get ready to be moved and inspired in July when we will be joined by Leader with Soul Janine Lee -  Social Entrepreneur, Yogi, Designer, Feminist, Hugger and Leader.

 

Exploring Leadership and Uplifting Women

 

After successfully and singularly directing her company and leading a team of creatives to develop award winning campaigns for government and private sector clients for 15 years Janine recently found herself at a cross roads and faced with adversity. Half way through 2012 she had packed three children, four bags and $50 in her pocket and returned to Brisbane. Since then she has rebuilt a boutique design firm and develops bespoke design and creative strategy for a handpicked selection of clients.

 

Prior to 2012 she founded and co-founded three other start-ups and has volunteered business, creative and hands on support to numerous non-for profit projects and social enterprises from CARE Australia, One Girl, Forest Stewardship Council and The National Breast Cancer Association. In 2016 whilst working through an MBA at the University of Queensland, she was awarded a director’s scholarship and has been successful in application and pitch to the Ideas Hub accelerator, the iLab Germinate program and the Difference Incubator.

 

Janine’s passion for supporting and uplifting women is evident in her recent role as the Queensland Engagement Lead for Global Sisters as well as the creation of a social venture called Feathersome. With the help of a truly diverse and growing volunteer working group, Janine leads this social enterprise to uplift and promote female leadership by publishing authentic stories. Her vision is to share real stories, develop partnerships and invest profits into tech support and a community-nesting program to aid the provision of resources and safe shelter for women affected by violence.
