"When the SEC Comes Calling”
A deep dive into investigations, enforcement, and what not to tweet
________________________________________
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA) invites you to a special evening event featuring a panel of highly experienced securities litigators.
Over the past few years, the ability of companies to conduct “token offerings” (also called ICOs) has allowed early-stage entities to raise—quickly and sometimes with very little disclosure—billions of dollars. Yet, as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has made clear, under U.S. federal securities laws, many such token sales may have been illegal (while some involved fraud and outright scams). More recently, we have seen a series of high-profile investigations and enforcement actions brought by the SEC against some of the world’s most prominent token sellers.
Would you be ready if the SEC came knocking on your door? In a fireside chat and panel, our speakers will provide essential context and share practical tips about what to expect when faced with a potential SEC investigation or enforcement action.
We hope you can join us for an informative and lively event.
This event is free for current Wall Street Blockchain Alliance members using the promotional code WSBAeventJan2020. Non-members are welcome to join us for $99. Seats are limited.
Please note that invitations are not transferrable.
Government issued identification will be required to enter the venue.
