What Is interNational Nanny Training Day?


Created by Nannypalooza.com, (Inter)National Nanny Training Day is held to recognize the needs of young children and to raise awareness of the positive correlation between nanny training and quality care. This national initiative is part of Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.


On Saturday April, 18 2020  nannies from all over the U.S., the U.K., AUS and Switzerland will gather in their local communities at training events designed to meet their unique needs.


Sessions and Speakers:


Car Seat Safety with an Emphasis on Booster Safety and the New Washington State Laws. Presented by Jenny Wood CPST


Connection Centered Discipline

Presented by Lora Brawley of Nanny Care Hub


Recovering from Working in a Toxic Environment

Presented by Rachel Gorham


How to Support Today’s Students in the Common Core World

Presented by Mara Gaukroger of Sound Care Agency Inc



Meals and Beverages:

A light continental breakfast of fruit and bakery items will be provided beginning at 8:45am. Breakfast has been provided by the organizing team: Jenny Brown, Rachel Gorham, Emily Garwood, Melissa Christoffer, Cebastian McGaw, Jenny Wood and Jennifer Erickson.

Lunch will be a Taco bar: Chicken and Beef, Vegan Refried Beans, Cheese, Sour Cream, Lettuce, Tomato, Salsa, Seasoned Rice, Flour and Corn Tortillas, catered by Renton Technical College. We are working to provide a vegetarian option and will update as soon as we have more information.


Coffee, Water and Tea will be available throughout the day. We do suggest bringing a water bottle and a reusable coffee cup if at all possible.


As is our tradition, we will be holding a raffle during the event! Tickets are $1/each or 6/$5. All raffle proceeds will be donated to Mary’s Place in Seattle. Cash is preferable but we also take raffle ticket payments via Venmo. Unfortunately, we cannot accept checks or other payment types.

We will also be gathering donations for them at the event, more information to follow.


As always, we will have a dinner following the event, sign up sheets will be available during the event.
