Highlights: Explore oak woodland and open grassland via back roads. Targets: Phainopepla, Mountain Bluebird, Prairie Falcon, Ferruginous Hawk, Golden Eagle; other possibilities: Mountain Plover, Lark, Vesper and Rufous-crowned Sparrows, Greater Roadrunner, Chukar.
Notes: Bring lunch and a full tank of gas; carpooling recommended. We’ll eat at Panoche Inn.
