Santa Clara Valley Water District
5700 Almaden Expy, San Jose, CA, USA
In Almaden Valley and hidden behind the Santa Clara Valley Water District headquarters are two percolation ponds, drought tolerant gardens, and the start of the Guadalupe River. We’ll scan the ponds if they are full, and the Guadalupe River in search of ducks, wading birds, and songbirds. If we’re lucky, we will spot the Scaly-breasted Munia that breed in the area. This compact location is ideal for new birders or those short on time. 1 mile flat walk on paved trails and gravel roads.
Meet: 5700 Almaden Expy. Park in headquarters visitor parking (north end of large lot).
