Intro to Hand-Lettering: Holiday Style!

If you’ve ever had an ‘inkling’ to create this fun lettering yourself, but don’t know where to begin, then this course is for YOU!

 

Bring your friends and join us for a fun, relaxed environment to learn the basics of hand-lettering, led by Candace Collin of Little Sparrow Designs. This class is designed for beginners and no experience is necessary!

 

In this class you will learn:

·      The basics of handlettering forms and techniques, with a focus on faux calligraphy (calligraphy created with a pen, chalk or marker rather than a pointed nib pen)

·      Ways to adorn and enhance your lettering (i.e. shadows, flourishes, various styles, etc)

·      Plenty of practice exercises given with a Holiday spin!

 

Your Registration Fee INCLUDES:

·      2 hours of hands-on instruction, one-on-one feedback and practice

·      A take-home Starter Kit with everything you need to continue your hand-lettering journey at home. This will include writing tools (pencil/eraser, and 2 types of quality lettering pens/markers) And an instructional booklet that contains:
- handlettering fundamentals, tips, tricks and resources
- various alphabet style guide sheets
- guideline/practice sheets

·      A holiday ornament that you will personally get to hand-letter and take home!

·      All supplies/materials

·      Light refreshments, tea and coffee

 

This class is limited to 15 students to allow for more personalized instruction and maximum learning experience.

Cancellation Policy:

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Purchasers are welcome to sell or transfer tickets to someone else in the event that they cannot make the workshop.

 

Candace Collin is a Calgary based hand-letterer and artist. She holds a B.Ed. degree in music, and has channeled her creativity into the journey of hand lettering and calligraphy since 2015. Self-taught in the arts, she has combined her experience in teaching with her love for lettering to create a super fun learning environment, with an easy-to-follow teaching style. She hopes that she can inspire others to develop their inner artist and find joy in creating their own unique style of lettering!
