Class Descriptions
PLEASE NOTE: Your child will be placed in four of these classes and they will visit the same classes on both days.
You will be asked to indicate your top six class choices. We will work hard to get your children
into their top four class choices; however, that is not always possible with scheduling.
Therefore, sign up early!
1. Break Out Ivy Tech
Are you ready to break out? Work together to solve all of the puzzles and beat the clock in this escape game challenge. Do you have what it takes to get free?
2 Calling All Inventors and Engineers
Find the inventor within you! Students will investigate how inventors work and make discoveries. You will engage in problem-solving, creative thinking, and collaboration through invention-based learning. Students will even gain a glimpse into the world of architects and engineers.
3 Clay Masterpieces
Learn techniques artist use when working with clay and then create your masterpiece! In this hands-on art class, you will make a holiday-themed creation appropriate for gift-giving! Clay and paint mean you should wear old clothes that can get dirty.
4 Coding
Do you love technology or have a vivid imagination? Are you interested in figuring things out and how things work? Then you will enjoy our coding class where you will learn programming and basic coding concepts as you design and build your own codes. Through exciting and interactive projects, you will learn coding and even design your own game!
5 Cooking Fun (Holiday Edition!)
Let’s cook up some fun while learning the importance of measurement, timing and ingredients. Follow recipes and learn chef secrets from a pro! Don’t forget to wear an apron. You’ll start your own recipe collection in this delicious class!
6 Cupcake Creations (Holiday Edition!)
Always asking to help in the kitchen? Make our classroom your kitchen and decorate away! Explore your expertise at decorating cupcakes while learning some inventive, yummy ways to create edible designs! Things may get messy, so come prepared with appropriate clothing!
7 Got Yarn?
Do you enjoy creating things with your own two hands? If so, join us for this “beginners” crochet/knitting class. We will learn the basics of finger knitting, as well as simple crochet techniques. You will be able to take home the skill of a lifetime!
8 Lego Robotics
Do you like to build things? Here you will have the opportunity to imagine, build, and program robots using Lego WeDo Kits! Robots are used in your everyday life…and now you have the power to create your own and see how they work! This adventure will have you exploring the fascinating world of robotics!
9 Mini Masterpieces
Discover your imaginative and artistic potential! As a young artist, you will be exposed to an assortment of different art experiences. You will immerse yourself in the work of famous artists and then embellish your own masterpiece with what you have learned. Amazing creations await!
10 Weird and Wacky Science
In this updated class, students will evaluate scientific observations and physical properties, while learning the scientific principles used to make a variety of interesting materials. They will load up their backpacks with projects from their hands-on science experiments.
